Funding for specific activities can vary over time, and opportunites are different depending on where you live. Younger people living with dementia may prefer to access activities in their wider community. Co producing peer support is in the first place listening and making a relationship.

First For Brian is part of the DEEP networkand has members which meet regularly as well as members that span London, the home counties, Bath and beyond. We aim to connect people according to interest and opportunity, rather than diagnosis or postcode. While geography is important in terms of opportunity, our friends and playmates of choice qmay not live within the same borough boundaries.

So if you are interested in cycling, yoga, knitting, or simply helping to create a community of people who want to co produce solutions to the challenges of living with dementia, or any other disability, do get in touch.

We have two funded projects in London:

Co producing peer support in Merton & Wandsworth, SW London

Co Producing support and activity for brain health for people living with dementia, their families & friends, on the Old Oak Estate

A dementia friendly community is a family friendly community which recognises the important roles of residents of all ages and the businesses which they rely on. No Place Like Home is an ambitious project to engage the community in celebrating what is important to them and finding solutions to the problems that detract from wellbeing.
