Challenge events

Challenge events: organising your content

Create a new post for each individual event and ensure they appear in this listing by giving them the ‘challenge-events’ category. Make the most of your platform’s fundraising functionality by including a clear link to ‘Set up a fundraising page’ on your website.

If you need to provide an external link for official registration, ensure it opens in a new tab/window by changing ‘Target’ to ‘New window’ in the ‘Insert link’ pop-up window. That way it will be easy for supporters to come back to your site to set up their fundraising page once they’ve registered.

Content tips

Aim to have a few events for your supporters to choose from: there are usually lots of challenge events going on. You may wish to offer a mix of high-profile national events (such as the London marathon) and more local opportunities to raise money while you run/cycle/etc.

Use images and quotes (using the ‘blockquote’ style) from previous participants to encourage and inspire.

It’s really important to make it easy and clear to potential participants what they will be signing up for, how to do it and any ways you will be supporting them. Emphasise the importance of setting up a fundraising page on your website for one of your appeals.

To access the links above you will need to be registered on our support site.
